Here are some of the new features that are available in NeuroExplorer Version 4:

• New user interface with dockable panels

• New analyses including Perievent Spectrograms and Aurocorrelograms versus time

• New Joint ISI Distribution analysis

• Joint PSTH improvements: Surprise(E)-Surprise(I) normalization and additional info in the graph

• Considerably improved Place Cell analysis:
• Firing positions are shown in numerical results
• New 'Interpolate' algorithm to fix position data
• New Firing Field analysis: firing fields are identified as regions of adjacent pixels with elevated firing rates and several statistics are calculated for each field



• Digital filtering of continuous channels (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, band-stop and notch filters)

• Numerous new features for comparing analysis results across conditions:
• Side-by-side comparisons (with interval filters) for many analyses



• New options to overlay graphs to compare several conditions in one graph

• New Explore window allowing rapid exploration of various analysis parameters using sliders (with immediate recalculation):

• Redesigned 1D View with quick navigation using mouse wheel, "jump" to the next timestamp and Y axis minimum/maximum settings for continuous variables

• New NexScript editor with syntax color highlighting, autofill and function help

• New features of NexScript including new flow control options (continue, break and return statements)
• Recent scripts are shown in scripts menu

• User can specify in detail what analysis parameters to save and restore

• New option to save all opened windows and restore them when NeuroExplorer is restarted

• New option to run a script after a data file is loaded (for example, to create new variables, split marker variables, etc.)

• Ability to generate interval filters "on-the-fly"

• Page orientation (Portrait or Landscape) is saved in each analysis template
• Ability to use a custom color scale (can be loaded from a text file)
